The artificial horizon:

 The artificial horizon

It restores the position of the natural horizon when it is not visible (night and cloud flight).

It then becomes possible to control the attitude of the aircraft by a perfect similarity with visual flight.

It consists of a:

Central model representing the aircraft Interior sphere on which appears the horizon line in

white, the sky in blue, and the earth in brown.

Crown with corresponding lines at the inclination values: 10 °, 20 °, 30 °, 60 °, 90 °.

During an aircraft movement, it is the aircraft assembly - model that moves around the sphere + crown, these

the latter being made fixed in space by the top of a gyroscope.

The pilots therefore have information on the attitude and inclination of the aircraft by

simple reading of the artificial horizon.
